Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state.
The approval, announced in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, George Nwaeke, was granted on Monday and aims to support workers and senior citizens in having a joyful Christmas celebration.
This marks the second time under Governor Fubara’s administration that civil servants will receive a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus, an amount higher than the national minimum wage. It is also the first time pensioners are included in the festive bonus.
In his Christmas message, Governor Fubara called on the people of Rivers State to embrace peace, unity, and love throughout the holiday season and beyond. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence in overcoming the country’s economic and security challenges.
He also assured Rivers State residents that the coming year would bring new opportunities and lasting fulfillment.
