Moses Simon, Akor Adams
The Super Eagles secured a 2-1 victory over Iran in a friendly match on Friday, thanks to goals from Moses Simon and Akor Adams.

Nigeria opened the scoring early when Simon netted in the 7th minute, assisted by Samuel Chukwueze. The lead was doubled in the 52nd minute through Akor Adams, who finished off a setup from Ademola Lookman. Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for Iran in the 67th minute, but the Super Eagles held on to claim the win.

The friendly serves as part of Nigeria’s preparations for upcoming fixtures, giving Coach Eric Chelle an opportunity to test player combinations and fine-tune the squad ahead of competitive matches.

Looking ahead, Nigeria will face Jordan in another international friendly on March 31 at Mardan Stadyumu in Antalya, Turkey. The match is part of a four-nation tournament aimed at providing competitive action for World Cup-qualified teams and opportunities for squad rebuilding.

Although Nigeria will not feature in the World Cup in June, these friendlies remain crucial for team development, cohesion, and maintaining momentum.

Fans are optimistic as the Super Eagles continue to showcase their attacking flair while rebuilding and gaining experience on the international stage.
