President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday departed Lagos for Abuja after marking the Eid-el-Fitr holiday, following his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga disclosed this in a statement, noting that the President’s aircraft departed the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at 6:44 p.m.
According to the statement, Tinubu had returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday and observed Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
During his stay, the President held a series of high-level engagements, including meetings with 23 governors, among them Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
He also received a delegation from the European Union and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Onanuga added that Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Lagos to brief the President on his recent trip to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.
At the President’s residence ahead of his departure were Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba.
Also present at the airport were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, as well as senior government officials and party leaders.
