The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has scheduled April 14, 2026 for its National Convention, with ward congresses set to begin on April 7 as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The party said the exercise forms part of its constitutional obligation to renew its leadership structures at all levels, starting from polling units and wards through local government and state levels, culminating in the National Convention.
In a statement issued on Saturday and jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC released the timetable for the congresses.
According to the schedule, polling unit and ward congresses will hold on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, followed by local government area congresses on Thursday, April 9, and state congresses on Saturday, April 11, before the National Convention on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
The party called on members interested in contesting vacant positions at the ward, local government, or state levels to obtain and complete the relevant nomination or expression of interest forms through its official platform.
It added that the forms and further details are available on its website and urged members across the country to participate actively in the process.
“Forms and further information are available on the official ADC website: www.adc.org.ng,”
the statement said.
The party also urged members to conduct themselves in line with the party’s constitution, guidelines, and democratic values throughout the exercise.
