A woman accused of opening fire on global megastar Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion was charged Tuesday with attempted murder.
Los Angeles prosecutors said Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, allegedly fired shots at the luxury estate on Sunday. Aerial footage following the incident showed bullet holes in a gate at the property, which Rihanna shares with rapper A$AP Rocky and the couple’s three children.
Ortiz, a Florida resident, has a prior history of involuntary psychiatric commitment and previously lost custody of her then 10-year-old child, TMZ reported.
A Facebook page appearing to belong to Ortiz included posts referencing several celebrities, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and Cardi B. In one post, she tagged Rihanna, challenging her “to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around.” In another video, Ortiz claimed that Rihanna wants to kill her.
Ortiz was charged with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and one count of shooting at an inhabited vehicle. She was ordered held on $1.875 million bail and barred from contacting the Barbados-born singer. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 25, 2026.
Police said an AR-15-style assault rifle was used in the attack, which occurred in broad daylight while Rihanna was reportedly inside the home.
Judge Theresa McGonigle presided over Ortiz’s arraignment at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles.
