Abba Yusuf has relieved the Kano State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect, as part of efforts to reposition the state civil service.
The development was announced on Tuesday evening in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement, the move is part of the administration’s ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening efficiency, discipline, and service delivery across Kano State government institutions.
Governor Yusuf commended Musa for his contributions during his tenure, saying, “We wish him the best in his future endeavours and pray for his continued success in all aspects of life.”
The statement also disclosed that Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, Permanent Secretary in charge of Administration and General Services at the Cabinet Office, has been directed to serve as Acting Head of Service pending the appointment of a substantive replacement.
The outgoing Head of Service has been instructed to hand over all affairs of the office without delay. “The outgoing Head of Service is directed to complete the handover to the Acting Head of Service by Wednesday, March 11, 2026,” the statement added.
