President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday attended the wedding fātiḥah of the children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, held at the National Mosque in Abuja.
Leading a high-powered delegation of Nigeria’s top political figures, Tinubu joined other dignitaries to honour the Minister’s family at the ceremony.
The President’s aide, Dada Olusegun, shared a video of the event on X, captioned: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today graced the wedding fātiḥah of the children of the Minister of State for Defence, held at the National Mosque in Abuja.”
Other notable attendees included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Minister of Defence Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, among others.
The Telegraph reports that the scale of the event had drawn public attention since January, when the invitation cards for the mass wedding of Matawalle’s nine children first went viral.
The children celebrated in the historic ceremony are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muhammad, Nana Firdausi, and Farida.
