The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of Adesina Afeez, a 22-year-old singer popularly known as Destiny Boy.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued in Abeokuta by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.
According to the police, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for a thorough investigation. The spokesperson also disclosed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody as investigations continue.
“The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy. The case has been transferred to the SCID, Homicide Section, for detailed investigation, and one suspect is presently in custody,” the statement said.
News of Destiny Boy’s death emerged on Sunday, though the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Destiny Boy was a fast-rising Nigerian Fuji-pop singer and composer, celebrated for his unique fusion of hip-hop and traditional Fuji music. A native of Agege, Lagos State, he gained national attention for his energetic performances and creative reinterpretations of popular songs, earning recognition as one of Nigeria’s most promising young music talents.
