Actress Bolaji Ogunmola breaks down after flight delays leave her stranded in Ekiti

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bolaji Ogunmola has called out an airline after being stranded at the Ekiti State airport for more than 24 hours following repeated flight cancellations and rescheduling.

In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday morning, the visibly distressed actress said the disruption caused her to miss the first day of production on her film project, reportedly valued at over ₦20 million.

“I’m still at the airport and I’ve cried my eyes out this morning. I’m supposed to be on set today, it’s the first day of production. I’ve booked actors, restaurants, everything, and I’m still here. I’ve spent over ₦15–20 million trying to produce this film,” she said.

Ogunmola explained that the ordeal began on Wednesday when she arrived at the airport for a scheduled flight to Lagos, only to be informed that the flight had been delayed and later cancelled without a clear alternative plan.

“I was supposed to fly yesterday. I waited for hours, then they told us they weren’t flying again. I asked what the plan was because I needed to get to Lagos,” she recounted.

After spending the night at a motel, she returned to the airport early Thursday morning for a rescheduled 8:00 a.m. flight, which was repeatedly shifted.

“They moved it from 8 a.m. to 9:30, then to 12 noon, and now they’re saying 5:30 p.m. Meanwhile, I’m meant to be on set,” she said.

The actress expressed frustration over what she described as poor communication from the airline and the financial and emotional strain placed on her production crew, who were already on set waiting.

“It’s not just my time they’re wasting. This is my livelihood. My crew is on standby on our first day of work, and all I keep hearing is ‘sorry.’ I’m literally stuck here,” Ogunmola said.

She disclosed that she had decided to travel by road despite safety concerns in order to reach her production location in Lagos.

“I have to go by road, which is unsafe, but I need to get to work. My lawyers will take this up. I’m documenting this because they’re not remorseful and they’re being unfair,” she added.

Ogunmola clarified that the video was not intended to stir controversy but to serve as evidence of her experience.

“I’m not trying to cause drama. I just need to have proof of what is happening,” she said.
