Rivers deputy governor formally registers with APC as SSG dumps PDP

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, formally registers with the APC
The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, has formally registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in her ward within Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA).

Prof. Odu completed her e-registration at Akabuka, Ward 8, Unit 11, on Sunday, before embarking on a tour of all six zones of ONELGA to sensitise residents about the ongoing APC e-registration exercise.

She urged citizens to show their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Siminalayi Fubara through active participation in the party registration. According to her, the exercise follows Governor Fubara’s recent declaration into the APC and aims to consolidate grassroots support for both leaders.

“The turnout everywhere we went was remarkable. People said they would go wherever I go, and wherever Governor Fubara and President Tinubu go, they will follow,” Prof. Odu said, noting that the tour covered Egi, Omoku, Osomini, Igburu, Egbema, and Ndoni zones. She added that the enthusiasm reflects growing acceptance of the APC in the area.

A major highlight of the tour was the defection of several Labour Party members in Ndoni to the APC, a move Prof. Odu described as a boost to the party’s strength and a sign of increasing grassroots alignment with the leadership of Tinubu and Fubara.

In a related development, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
