President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays following official visits to Borno and Bauchi states.

The President was received at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, senior government officials and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Telegraph had earlier reported that Tinubu departed Abuja on Saturday on a three-state tour.

In Borno State, the President commissioned projects executed by the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government. While in Maiduguri, he also attended the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State governor and senator, Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.

Tinubu then travelled to Bauchi State, where he paid a condolence visit to the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the renowned Islamic cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who died on November 27.

Following the condolence visit, the President proceeded to Lagos, where he is expected to undertake a number of engagements during the holiday period.

Among these is his scheduled attendance at the Eyo Festival on December 27 as guest of honour. The festival, to be held at Tafawa Balewa Square, will celebrate prominent figures, including the President’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
