Shell Nigeria gas expands operations to Ogun state

Shell Nigeria Gas Limited (SNG) is expanding its footprint in Ogun State through a new agreement to supply gas to SG Industrial FZE, a steel manufacturer in the Guangdong Industrial Zone.

The deal adds to SNG’s growing customer base and underscores its reputation as a dependable gas supplier. The company currently operates about 150 km of distribution pipelines, serving more than 150 clients across Abia, Bayelsa, Ogun, and Rivers states.

SNG says these achievements have been made in close collaboration with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML).

“Our commitment is clear — to build, operate, and maintain a gas distribution system that is not only reliable but resilient, transparent, and designed to fuel growth,” SNG Managing Director Ralph Gbobo said at the signing ceremony. “This agreement reflects our drive to expand access to cleaner and more reliable energy in support of Nigeria’s growth agenda.”

Vice General Manager of SG Industrial FZE, Moya Shua, added: “We are thrilled to partner with SNG on this transformative journey. This collaboration marks a major step toward securing reliable energy that will power our growth and long-term ambitions.”

Incorporated in 1998 as a fully Shell-owned company, SNG has steadily expanded access to its natural gas network, recently connecting new customers such as Reliance Chemical Products Limited II, Ultimum Limited, Nigeria Distilleries Limited III, and Rumbu Industries Nigeria Limited. These additions reinforce its commitment to boosting domestic gas utilisation across the country.

SNG’s milestones align with the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative and its broader gas development agenda.
