FULL LIST: Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Ayra Starr make 2026 Grammy nominations

The nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards have been announced, unveiling a star-studded lineup of global artists competing for top honors at the 68th annual ceremony.

Scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the event will honor music released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025.

This year’s edition introduces two new categories — Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover — reflecting the Recording Academy’s ongoing effort to recognize a broader range of artistry.

Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga dominate major categories

Leading the nominations is Kendrick Lamar with nine, including Album of the Year for GNX and Record of the Year for “Luther” with SZA.

Lady Gaga follows closely with seven nominations, making her the most-nominated female artist of the year. Her album MAYHEM earns her a fifth Album of the Year nod.

Sabrina Carpenter secures her second consecutive Album of the Year nomination for Man’s Best Friend, while rising acts KATSEYE, Olivia Dean, Addison Rae, Leon Thomas, and Sombr headline the Best New Artist category.

Burna Boy leads African nominees

African artists made a strong impression across the Global and African music fields, with five Nigerian and nine African acts earning nominations.

Burna Boy received two nominations — Best African Music Performance for “Love” and Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness — making him the highest-nominated African artist of the 2025 eligibility cycle.

Other Nigerian nominees include Davido, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid, joined by continental icons such as Angélique Kidjo (Benin), Eddy Kenzo (Uganda), Tyla (South Africa), and Youssou N’Dour (Senegal).

In the Best African Music Performance category, Nigeria’s dominance was unmistakable, with “Love” by Burna Boy, “With You” by Davido featuring Omah Lay, and “Gimme Dat” by Ayra Starr featuring Wizkid. Alongside Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin – “Hope & Love” and Tyla – “Push 2 Start.”

For Best Global Music Album, Burna Boy faces stiff competition from Youssou N’Dour (Éclairer le Monde – Light the World), Angélique Kidjo (Jerusalema), and Anoushka Shankar (Chapter III: We Return to Light).
