Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has officially received her ₦150 million grand prize following her triumph in the landmark “10/10” edition of the reality show.
The prize presentation ceremony, held on Tuesday in Lagos, saw Imisi awarded a symbolic cheque for ₦80 million in cash and a brand-new Innoson SUV, drawing excitement from fans, fellow housemates, and the show’s organisers.
Clad in a vibrant red outfit, the 23-year-old actress and fashion designer from Oyo State beamed with joy as she posed beside her white, ribbon-wrapped SUV — a moment that quickly dominated social media with trending hashtags like #ImisiTheQueen and #BBNaija10Winner.
The event was attended by executives of Multichoice Nigeria, brand sponsors, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the show’s longtime host, who congratulated the winner on her remarkable achievement.
A standout journey to victory
Imisi emerged victorious after 72 intense days in the Big Brother house, where she outlasted 28 housemates, navigated emotional highs, tricky alliances, and competitive challenges — ultimately capturing the hearts of millions across Africa.
She secured a commanding 42.8% of the total votes, well ahead of closest contenders Dede (15.94%) and Koyin (15.23%), with the remaining finalists — Sultana, Kola, Jason Jae, Mensan, Isabella, and Kaybobo — polling smaller percentages.
Fans and commentators have credited her win to her emotional intelligence, authenticity, and grace under pressure, describing her as one of the most relatable and deserving champions in the show’s history.
However, online conversations also reflected some mixed views, with a section of fans suggesting her victory was partially driven by a “pity vote strategy” — a debate that mirrors past controversies over voting patterns in the show’s earlier seasons.
Reunions and emotional moments
In the emotional aftermath of the finale, several evicted housemates shared heartwarming moments with their loved ones. A viral clip showed Isabella Georgewill reuniting with her young son, Jason, in a tender hug that moved many online.
Other housemates — including Kaybobo, Mensan, Dede, Koyin, Gigi Jasmine, Thelma, and Rooboy — gathered at the Big Brother house and later at the Multichoice Studio for a mini reunion, celebrating the end of what many described as a life-changing experience.
Imisi’s win marks the end of a historic season — the 10th anniversary of Africa’s most popular reality TV show — leaving behind not just a champion, but a new cultural icon in Nigerian pop culture.
