Nigerian contestant Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun has won the Best Physique award at the preliminary competition of Mister Cosmopolitan 2025, held at the MBK Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
Godwin, who recently emerged as the winner of Misters of Nigeria 2025, is representing Nigeria on the global stage for the first time. Celebrating his latest win, he posted on Facebook: “Best Physique Cosmopolitan 2025 — all the way from PH to Thailand.”
At the prelims, awards were also given in other categories: Best National Costume went to the Filipino delegate, while the Best Talent award was claimed by the Thai representative. Godwin secured the Best Swimwear award, which contributed to his overall Best Physique win.

A creative designer and the reigning Mr Rivers State University 2023/2024, Godwin showcased Nigeria’s national costume titled “Omu Alabo – The Warlord,” inspired by King Agbanijike of the Bille Kingdom in Rivers State. The striking ensemble symbolized the heritage, warrior spirit, and cultural strength of the Niger Delta people.
A total of 18 contestants from across the globe participated in the preliminary competition, all vying for a coveted place among the semifinalists ahead of the grand finale.

Earlier in the week, contestants received their official sashes during a welcome ceremony at Divalux Resort & Spa in Bangkok, hosted by the pageant’s founding committee, led by Faiz Noh.
As of Friday, fan voting placed the following contestants in the top five: Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang of Taiwan with 21.42%, Khandy Noprian of Indonesia with 19.20%, Harsh D Peiris of Sri Lanka with 17.51%, Hanyoung Kim of South Korea with 11.56%, and Sandile Christo Gama of South Africa with 9.96%.
