Police summon El-Rufai, other ADC leaders over alleged conspiracy

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai
The Kaduna State Police Command has summoned former governor Nasir El-Rufai for questioning over alleged criminal conspiracy, incitement of public disturbance, mischief, and causing grievous hurt.

According to an invitation letter signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation, Zubairu Abdullahi, El-Rufai is to appear alongside key members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.

Those listed include the party’s North West Chairman, Ja’afaru Sani, as well as Bashir Saidu, Ubaidullah Mohammed (aka Mikiya 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (aka Mikiya).

The letter stated that the invitees are expected at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to respond to allegations lodged against them on September 8, 2025.

“This Department is currently investigating the above-mentioned case involving the following members of your party. You are requested to come along with them to SCID to clarify allegations reported against them by the complainants,” the letter partly read.

However, the ADC members said they have yet to receive any formal invitation, claiming they only became aware of the development through social media.
