Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage is making her highly anticipated return to the spotlight with a new album titled This One Is Personal, set for release on August 29.
The 13-track project marks her first full-length release since 2020’s Celia, ending a five-year hiatus from major solo projects.
In a post shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Savage described the album as an intimate exploration of pain, growth, and resilience, delivered through a stripped-back, emotionally resonant Afrobeats sound.
Recorded across Nashville, London, and Lagos, the album features minimal collaborations—among them, British rapper Skepta and rising Nigerian artist Taves.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited,” Savage said during a fan Q&A on X. “I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional, artists who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”
Savage, who has spent the last five years navigating personal and professional growth, including motherhood, career transitions, and a deeper creative evolution—says the project reflects that journey in full.
Fans around the world have flooded social media with messages of excitement, using the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal to engage with the singer and share anticipation ahead of the album’s release. She has continued to respond to fan questions, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the album’s creation and the stories behind each track.
