The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has condemned the conduct of its former staff member, Olakunle Alex Folarin, who was recently seen participating in a matchmaking programme hosted by popular entertainer Lege Miami on social media.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Monday, the Commission disclosed that Folarin, who served as a driver at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, had been dismissed after an internal investigation confirmed he forged his academic credentials.
Following his dismissal, the EFCC revealed that Folarin unlawfully retained official Commission property, including an identity card, prompting the agency to order his immediate arrest.
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, strongly condemns the involvement of Olakunle Alex Folarin, a dismissed staff member, in a matchmaking programme run on Lege Miami’s social media platforms,” the statement read.
“Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He served as a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate.”
The EFCC further noted that its Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has directed law enforcement agents to arrest Folarin for being in possession of official items he failed to return after his dismissal.
“The Executive Chairman has ordered his arrest for retaining EFCC property, including an identity card. The public is advised not to associate Folarin’s actions with the Commission,” it concluded.
