Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye made his courtroom debut as a lawyer on Friday, appearing before Justice Emeka Nwite at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Wearing a full wig and gown, Melaye’s appearance marks his first since being called to the Nigerian Bar earlier this month.
“Senator Dino Melaye at the Federal High Court Abuja today. Appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite of Court 8,” the politician wrote on his verified Facebook page.
Melaye was among over 5,000 new lawyers called to the Bar in early July after earning a law degree from Baze University in Abuja.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Melaye previously represented Kogi West in the 8th Senate and served in the House of Representatives.
His entry into legal practice marks a new chapter in a career that has included politics, activism, and even reality television.
