Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus was appointed head coach of Al Nassr on Tuesday, where he will work alongside compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently signed a new two-year contract with the Saudi club.

“It’s official, Mr. Jorge Jesus is the new Head Coach of Al Nassr,” the club announced on X.

The 70-year-old returns to the Saudi Pro League just two months after being dismissed by Al Hilal, following their exit in the AFC Champions League semi-finals. Jesus had been in charge of Al Hilal since 2023, in what was his second stint with the club.

With a coaching career spanning over three decades, Jesus has managed top clubs in Portugal—most notably Benfica and Sporting Lisbon—as well as teams in Brazil and Turkey.

Ronaldo, now 40, extended his contract with Al Nassr until 2027 in June, quashing rumors of a possible move elsewhere. Despite finishing as the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer last season with 25 goals, Ronaldo has yet to secure a domestic or continental title with Al Nassr, who also suffered a semi-final defeat in the AFC Champions League.
