The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari arrived at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina at approximately 1:59 p.m. today.
Accompanying the remains were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and several members of Buhari’s family. The Nigerian Air Force aircraft carrying the body was met on the runway by a contingent of military personnel, who solemnly lowered the flag-draped coffin.
Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, members of the Katsina State Executive Council, and other dignitaries were present at the airport to receive the late leader’s remains, alongside grieving family members.
From the airport, the body will be transported to Buhari’s hometown of Daura, where he will be laid to rest following full military honors.
