The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted another consignment of factory-sealed female lipsticks packed with illicit substances at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed the seizure in a post shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday.
Babafemi also issued a warning to Nigerians—particularly women—to exercise caution when purchasing or receiving cosmetic products, especially from unknown sources or suspicious online vendors.
“Ladies, beware!” the statement read. “It appears female lipsticks are increasingly being used as concealment tools for drug trafficking. This latest interception at MMIA comes barely a week after NDLEA operatives uncovered a similar shipment at a courier company in Lagos.”
