England defender Kyle Walker has completed a move to newly-promoted Premier League side Burnley, signing a two-year contract in a deal reportedly worth £5 million ($6.8 million) to Manchester City.
The 35-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Turf Moor, having made 410 Premier League appearances and winning the title six times during his time at City. He was also part of the squad that lifted the Champions League.
Walker spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Serie A club AC Milan, but the Italian side opted not to activate the purchase option in his loan agreement.
The veteran right-back’s contract with Manchester City, whom he joined from Tottenham in 2017, was originally set to run until the end of the 2025/26 season.
“I’m delighted to be here,” Walker said in a statement released by Burnley on Saturday.
“When I spoke to [manager] Scott Parker and heard about his vision for the club, it was an opportunity I jumped at.
He’s done an incredible job getting Burnley back to the Premier League with 100 points, and now we’re focused on what’s ahead in the greatest league in the world.”
Capped 96 times by England, Walker was left out of City’s squad for the Club World Cup, fuelling speculation about his departure.
The move also marks a reunion with Burnley manager Scott Parker, who played alongside Walker at Tottenham between 2011 and 2013.
