The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a special announcement confirming the relocation of its Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting originally scheduled for today.
The statement, posted by party management on the PDP’s official Facebook page, is titled: “Special Announcement! Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting.”
According to The Telegraph, the announcement was made around noon, several hours after the meeting was set to begin at Wadata Plaza.
The notice states: “The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), initially scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has been moved to the Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District, Abuja.”
BoT members—some reportedly already en route to the original venue—are now urged to proceed immediately to the new location.
The statement ends with a clear directive: “All BoT members are hereby advised to proceed to the new venue.”
It is signed simply but authoritatively: “Signed: Management.”
The abrupt venue change follows dramatic scenes earlier today at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, where security operatives reportedly sealed off the premises and prevented party leaders from gaining access.
Multiple media reports indicate the police acted on what was described as “an order from above,” dispersing BoT members attempting to enter.
