Liverpool have agreed to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in a deal reportedly worth £40 million ($54 million), according to Friday reports.
The 21-year-old is expected to travel to Merseyside soon for a medical ahead of finalizing his move to the Premier League champions.
Kerkez impressed last season with Bournemouth, delivering two goals and five assists in 38 league appearances, catching the attention of Liverpool’s scouting team.
Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes, who previously signed Kerkez for Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar, played a key role in securing the transfer.
Born in Serbia, Kerkez began his professional career at Hungarian club Győr before moving to AC Milan, where he did not make a senior appearance. He later joined Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in 2022 before arriving in the Premier League with Bournemouth last year.
Kerkez’s imminent arrival at Anfield raises questions over the future of Liverpool’s current left-back, Andrew Robertson, who has been linked with a potential move to Atletico Madrid.
The signing is Liverpool’s latest addition during a busy summer transfer window under manager Arne Slot. The club has already secured Netherlands right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, who is set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold following his move to Real Madrid.
Liverpool are also reportedly closing in on another deal with Leverkusen for German playmaker Florian Wirtz, with a fee that could reach a British transfer record of £116 million. Wirtz is believed to have undergone a medical on Friday ahead of an official announcement.
