President Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed the United States now has “complete and total control” of the skies over Iran, intensifying speculation about a possible American role in Israel’s ongoing strikes against Tehran.
“We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” Trump posted on Truth Social. While he stopped short of directly referencing Israel, he praised the effectiveness of U.S.-made weaponry, adding, “Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”
In a separate post, Trump issued a pointed warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying the U.S. knows his location but has chosen not to target him — “for now.”
“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump wrote. He added a cautionary note: “But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”
Shortly after, Trump posted a one-line demand in all caps: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
Returning early from the G7 summit in Canada late Monday, Trump was expected to meet top national security officials in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday. While he has previously emphasized that the U.S. would not enter the conflict, he has also revived an offer for Iran to end its nuclear program — an offer made prior to Israel’s latest offensive.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he was no longer interested in a temporary truce. “I want a real end, not a ceasefire,” he said, adding, “I’m not in too much of a mood to negotiate.”
Israel, the United States’ closest ally in the region, had recently made a similar claim of airspace control over Iran, amid escalating strikes targeting Iranian leadership and suspected nuclear sites.
