Paris Saint-Germain clinched their first UEFA Champions League title in emphatic fashion on Saturday, dismantling Inter Milan 5–0 in Munich in what was arguably the most one-sided final in the competition’s history.
Luis Enrique’s youthful side delivered a breathtaking performance, with 19-year-old Desire Doue scoring twice and Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu also on the scoresheet.
Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute against his former club, finishing off a flowing move initiated by Vitinha and Doue. The French side doubled their lead eight minutes later when Doue’s deflected strike found the net after a rapid counterattack.
Inter, chasing their first Champions League crown since 2010, struggled to match PSG’s pace and precision. Their only notable chance of the first half came from a Marcus Thuram header that drifted wide.
Doue struck again in the 63rd minute, capping off a slick move involving Dembele and Vitinha, before being substituted to a standing ovation. PSG weren’t done yet—Kvaratskhelia made it 4–0 in the 73rd minute, and substitute Mayulu added a fifth late on after a smart one-two with Barcola.
The result marked the largest margin of victory in a Champions League final since the tournament’s inception 70 years ago, and made PSG only the second French club to lift the trophy, after Marseille in 1993.
The triumph is a landmark moment for PSG, coming five years after their loss to Bayern Munich in the 2020 final and following more than a decade of Qatari investment.
It also earned Luis Enrique his second Champions League title as a coach, following his 2015 triumph with Barcelona.
For Inter and coach Simone Inzaghi, it was a night to forget. Runners-up for the second time in three years, they end the season without silverware and now face a major rebuild.
The night, however, belonged to PSG—and to Doue, who delivered a dazzling performance days before his 20th birthday.
