Police arrest 25-year-old with human organs in Lagos

A 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, has been arrested in the Odomola community of Epe, Lagos State, for allegedly being in possession of human organs.

The suspect was apprehended by operatives of the Odo-Noforija Police Division following a tip-off from vigilant residents who reported his suspicious movements to the authorities.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, preliminary investigations revealed that Oghenebreme was transporting the organs from Edo State, allegedly to deliver them to a native doctor for suspected ritual purposes.

The recovered body parts have been deposited at the General Hospital, Epe, for preservation, while the case has been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the quick response of the police and the alertness of the Odomola community, which he described as critical to the suspect’s arrest.

He reiterated the importance of community vigilance and encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious activity to security agencies.

“The safety and security of Lagosians remain our top priority,” CP Jimoh stated. “We urge all citizens to be proactive in supporting law enforcement efforts across the state.”
