The Nigeria Police Force has released a detailed nine-step guide to assist motorists in seamlessly applying for tinted glass permits via its official digital platform.

Applicants are directed to visit the Police Specialised Services Automation Project portal at www.possap.gov.ng, where they must register using their National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), or Tax Identification Number (TIN). After filling in their details, users must create and verify an account through a confirmation code sent to their email.

Once logged in, applicants can select the “Tinted Glass Permit” service, enter vehicle details, upload the necessary documents, and make the required payment. The final step involves scheduling a vehicle inspection and biometric capture at a designated Police Intelligence Department location.

This digitised process aims to improve transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of police services.

The announcement follows a directive by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who recently reactivated the issuance of tinted glass permits nationwide. According to Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the decision was prompted by increasing public complaints over the harassment of motorists with factory-fitted tinted windows.
