The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was conducted nationwide on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement issued by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to the Board, candidates who participated in the mock exam can now check their results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.
JAMB explained that the mock examination, which is optional, is primarily intended to test new innovations and provide candidates with an opportunity to experience the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment ahead of the main UTME.
Out of the 200,115 candidates who initially indicated interest in the mock exam, two later withdrew, bringing the total number of registered candidates to 200,113. Of this number, 73,844 were absent on the day of the exam, while 88 candidates were disqualified due to issues with biometric verification. This left a total of 126,181 candidates who successfully sat for the mock test.
So far, JAMB has released the results of 115,735 candidates, while the results of 10,446 others are still being processed and will be released soon.
The Board acknowledged that some candidates experienced delays during the examination and apologized for any inconvenience caused. It attributed the delays to newly introduced features aimed at improving the overall conduct of the main UTME.
“These challenges are not unexpected, given the new innovations introduced this year,” the statement read. “We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of candidates and their parents as we work toward delivering a seamless examination experience.”
JAMB reiterated that the mock UTME plays a critical role in both testing system upgrades and familiarizing candidates with the CBT format.
“Over the years, the mock exam has proven effective in identifying and resolving lapses, while also equipping candidates with valuable hands-on experience for the main UTME,” the Board said.
The examination body encouraged candidates to remain focused and continue making necessary preparations, emphasizing that their efforts will contribute to a smoother and more successful experience during the main UTME.
