The new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, officially assumed leadership of the company from his predecessor, Mr. Mele Kyari, in a brief handover ceremony at the NNPC Towers on Friday.
In his remarks, Ojulari commended Kyari for his significant contributions to the growth of NNPC Ltd and his exceptional service to the nation. He outlined his management’s goal of building on Kyari’s achievements and advancing the company to new heights. While acknowledging the challenges ahead, he expressed confidence in the support of the company’s management and staff, as well as the guidance of his predecessor. “I will rely on your support and will come to you for advice,” Ojulari said to Kyari.
Kyari, in turn, congratulated Ojulari and thanked the company’s management and staff for their unwavering support during his tenure. He reassured Ojulari of his continued support, stressing that he remains available whenever needed.
In related news, NNPC Ltd announced the appointment of an eight-member Senior Management Team. The team, led by GCEO Ojulari, includes Rowland Ewubare as Group Chief Operating Officer, Adedapo Segun as Group Chief Financial Officer, and Olalekan Ogunleye as Executive Vice President of Gas, Power & New Energy. Other members of the team are Udy Ntia as Executive Vice President of Upstream, Mumuni Dangazau as Executive Vice President of Downstream, Sophia Mbakwe as Executive Vice President of Business Services, and Adesua Dozie as Company Secretary & Chief Legal Officer.
