Everton and Liverpool played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in a dramatic Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, featuring late drama and intense moments throughout.

James Tarkowski’s stoppage-time equaliser secured a well-earned point for Everton, as the Toffees battled back to deny their city rivals all three points.

The match erupted from the start, with Everton taking the lead in the 11th minute when Beto found the net, thanks to a precise assist from Jarrad Branthwaite. Liverpool quickly responded, with Alexis Mac Allister levelling the score just five minutes later after a smart pass from Mohamed Salah.

The first half saw a flurry of yellow cards, as tensions flared. Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson was booked in the 27th minute, followed by Everton’s Jesper Lindstrøm (35’), Idrissa Gueye (37’), and Abdoulaye Doucouré (45+3’). Conor Bradley of Liverpool and Curtis Jones (63’) also found themselves in the referee’s book.

Liverpool seemed to have the upper hand when Salah put them ahead in the 73rd minute, but Everton showed remarkable resilience. In the dying moments of the match, Tarkowski made his mark, firing in a half-volley from a Tim Iroegbunam header in the 90+8th minute to snatch a dramatic draw.
