Trump aims to end birthright US citizenship

US President-elect Donald Trump
In an interview aired Sunday, President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his commitment to deporting all undocumented immigrants in the United States, stating he would “have to” follow through on this promise.

When asked if he intended to deport “everyone who is here illegally over the next four years,” Trump responded, “You have to do it.”

During his first formal television interview after the November election on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump also vowed to end birthright citizenship — a provision enshrined in the U.S. Constitution — “if we can, through executive action,” calling the practice “ridiculous.”

In addition, Trump emphasized that he would “absolutely” consider withdrawing the United States from NATO if allied nations fail to “pay their bills,” stressing that NATO members must “treat us fairly” and fulfill their financial obligations.
