The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff.
The confirmation followed the presentation of the report by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army. The committee’s recommendations were unanimously approved by the upper chamber.
Lieutenant General Oluyede had been serving as Acting Chief of Army Staff following the illness and subsequent death of Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
