President Bola Tinubu has submitted the names of three individuals nominated for appointment as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to the Senate for approval.
The list of nominees was read by Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, during Tuesday’s plenary session.
They include Prof. Tukur A. Tukur from North West; Prof. Sunday Ajah (South East), as well as Fayesimi Ibiyemi from Ondo state.
Following the submission, the request has been referred to the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has been tasked with reviewing the nominations and reporting back at the earliest opportunity.
