The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially begun the accreditation process for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement issued on Sunday, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, described the accreditation process as a key step in preparing for the upcoming examination.

The statement outlined that new CBT centres wishing to participate in the 2025 UTME should first familiarize themselves with the accreditation requirements, which are available on the JAMB website.

“All new Computer-Based Test centres intending to participate in the 2025 UTME are advised to visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf to review the necessary requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre,” the statement said.

Following this review, prospective centres must formally notify JAMB of their intention to participate in the accreditation process by submitting a written request to the Registrar, via the Zonal Director or State Coordinator in their respective states.

Dr. Benjamin further clarified that established CBT centres that were successfully accredited and operated without issues during the 2024 UTME will need to register their interest through the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal.

“The Zonal and State Offices will assist new centres by creating accounts on the CMS Portal to facilitate their registration,” he added. “All centres must also complete an Autobot/Autotest on a date to be communicated to them, in preparation for the physical accreditation visit by the Board’s team.”

JAMB emphasized that the Autobot/Autotest is a mandatory requirement for all centres. Only those that successfully complete the test and meet the Board’s specified criteria will be eligible for the next stage of accreditation.

“Centres that satisfy all outlined requirements will be approved and included in the 2025 UTME registration and examination,” the statement confirmed.

The physical accreditation exercise is set to begin in December 2024, with only qualifying centres receiving specific notification about their scheduled dates.

JAMB reiterated that centres failing to meet satisfactory standards during the Autobot/Autotest will not be considered for final accreditation.
