FULL LIST: CJN swears in 68 new senior advocates of Nigeria

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has sworn in 68 legal practitioners as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).

The ceremony took place at the Supreme Court on Monday as part of activities marking the commencement of the court’s new legal year.

The SAN rank is conferred on legal practitioners who have distinguished themselves through exceptional advocacy in court or significant contributions to legal scholarship and the development of the law.

Speaking at the ceremony, Kekere-Ekun described the honour as both a mark of professional distinction and a call to greater responsibility.

“The rank you receive today is a distinction of great honour and carries a corresponding responsibility,” she said.

“The Inner Bar is not merely a recognition of professional success; it is a call to leadership. You will now be looked upon not only for the quality of your advocacy but also for the example you set to younger members of the profession. Carry the rank with dignity, humility and a deep sense of responsibility.”
