Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm on a five-year deal.

The transfer, which will run until June 2031, will be completed when the next transfer window opens, subject to regulatory approval. Financial details were not disclosed.

Yohanna, who turns 19 later this month, joins Brighton after emerging as one of the most promising young talents in Sweden’s top flight. He impressed during his spell with AIK, drawing attention for his performances in both league and cup competitions.

Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler said he was excited by the arrival of the Nigerian teenager, describing him as a player who can make an impact in attacking areas.

“I’m looking forward to working with Zadok,” Hürzeler said. “He’s a player who can influence games in the final third. While still young and needing time to adapt, he has qualities that make him a very exciting prospect.”

The Brighton manager highlighted Yohanna’s pace, creativity and ability to take on defenders, noting that those attributes would strengthen the club’s attacking options.

Yohanna began his career at the Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before moving to Sweden in 2025 to join AIK.

Since arriving in Europe, he has adapted quickly to professional football, making 18 appearances for AIK this season across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing four assists.

The move marks a significant step in the young winger’s career as he prepares for the challenge of the English Premier League.
