Davido reacts Governor Adeleke’s resignation from PDP

Davido and Osun Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to the resignation of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

On Tuesday, Davido reposted the announcement on X with the caption “Jeje…”, a remark widely interpreted as a subtle call for calm amid the political upheaval.

Governor Adeleke’s resignation, made public Monday night, was contained in a letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North. He cited unresolved issues within the PDP’s national leadership as his reason for leaving the party.

The move has raised uncertainty ahead of the PDP governorship primary for the 2026 Osun election. While the state chapter announced a postponement of the primary due to internal disputes, the National Working Committee insisted that the exercise would proceed, despite Adeleke being the only aspirant to have purchased the nomination form.
