The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the introduction of resit examinations for candidates, allowing them to retake their West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) papers as early as January and February 2025.
In an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show in Ghana on Sunday, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed the new initiative.
“Students who access their results and find they need to resit one or more papers have until January 8th to register online via our website or at WAEC-accredited internet cafés,” Kapi explained.
The resit exams are scheduled to take place from January 24th to February 15th, 2025.
Kapi also noted that students whose results have been canceled are eligible to sit the WASSCE PC1 exams, provided they have not been banned for malpractice.
